Given current discussions of directions and identity and governance it was interesting to come across an older NSW Baptist statement on "The Church". The 1952 assembly adopted a fairly comprehensive statement on the nature of the church from a Baptist perspective. A bit of source and redaction criticism reveals an interesting pattern of omission and addition, but it's an useful outline of Baptist ecclesiology.
